How ASI Is Governed

ASI is governed through an inclusive and participatory leadership structure designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and meaningful participation of persons with disabilities at all decision-making levels.

The structure ensures clear coordination from the national to community level, enabling efficient program management and strong oversight.

Our Governance & Leadership Structure

Below is the detailed breakdown of ASI’s governance and operational structure.

The General Assembly

Role:

The highest decision-making body of ASI.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets overall strategic direction

  • Approves policies and organizational priorities

  • Elects the Board of Directors

  • Reviews performance and annual reports

  • Ensures representation and accountability

Members Include:

  • Founding members

  • Senior representatives

  • Key stakeholders and persons with disabilities

Role:

Provides governance oversight and strategic leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Policy formulation and approval

  • Oversight of financial management

  • Appointment and supervision of Executive Director

  • Risk management and compliance

  • Ensuring the organization adheres to its mission and values

Composition:

  • Chairperson

  • Vice Chairperson

  • Secretary

  • Treasurer

  • Board Members
    (Ensuring disability and gender representation)

Role:

Leads overall management, representation, and coordination of ASI’s programs and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic leadership and organizational management

  • Program oversight and supervision

  • Ensuring quality, compliance, and accountability

  • Partnerships, advocacy, and donor engagement

  • Reporting to the Board of Directors

Consists of Department Heads and Key Managers:

  • Programs Manager

  • Finance & Administration Manager

  • MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning) Manager

  • Human Resources Manager

  • Operations/Logistics Manager

  • Communications & Advocacy Lead

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning

  • Ensuring effective program implementation

  • Staff development and supervision

  • Collecting field data to inform programming
